The War of Gog and Magog: Part 2

        In light of recent events in America and all over the world, it’s time to talk about the biblical War of Gog and Magog that will shortly come to past. Recently, the United States had an election to determine the next president for four years, and we have chosen to elect Donald Trump to be president of the United States starting 2017. But, this didn’t happen without controversy; for during the election, the Democratic convention was hacked by what people believed were the Russians. Whether this was true or not remained to be seen, the American media and the FBI with their government bias believed that this was true while Republicans and Trump supporters believed that this was hoax. Because the government believed that this was true, the Obama administration sanctioned the Russians and deported Russian diplomats. The Russian response—because Putin likes Trump to be president—was to turn the other cheek. However, this hack and the many wikileaks about Hillary Clinton led to her lose and the rise of Trump.

        What’s concerning about this is the fact that the Russians did what we had been doing through the CIA for decades. America had been involved in taking down governments since the 1950s. We had overthrown the government in Iran in the 50s by replacing a man who nationalized the Iranian oil industry. We replaced him, Mohammad Mosaddegh, with the Shah of Iran—which in turn led to oppression and the overturn of his government in 1979 by the Ayatollah. We have been doing this for years before this situation with Russia. We are just getting what we deserve from the Russians. We are causing our own problems in this country because we refuse to come to God and Jesus Christ as a nation. We refuse to obey Him and we haven’t humbled ourselves before God, so we got the leader that we deserve. Trump maybe a Russian vessel, but God is still in charge, and we need to repent of our sins to come back to Him.

        Why would this news have to do with the War of Gog and Magog? Easy: America was trying to choose a good leader, but chose a lesser of two evils. They didn’t want four more years of Obama; for Obama was in it for his own benefit. A lot of things during the Obama administration had led to the rise of the players of the War of Gog and Magog. For example, there was a deal with Iran to stop their nuclear program—which was a failure because the government gave Iran money to stop their program, but all Iran did was fund more terrorism and continue to build their nuclear program. In addition, North Korea got a ransom to stop their nuclear program by the Obama Administration—which the North Koreans took and continued their plans. The players of the War of Gog and Magog are working in the world: Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Turkey and Syria. These are only a few of the players in this war. But, how do I know about who the players are? The prophesy in Ezekiel 38 tells us.

        In the prophesy, God talked about Gog, a chief prince of Magog. In the Hebrew, Gog was head, or leader, of Meshech and Tubal. Meshech and Tubal were the Hebrew names of the sons of Japheth, and they lived in Magog another of Japheth’s sons. Moscow was the Russian name for Meshech, and Tobolsk was the Siberian name for Tubal. Those two names were the capitals of their respective countries: Moscow was the capital of Russia, and Tobolsk was the capital of Siberia. Those two nations came together into the Russian nation we know today in the 17^th century, so that would mean that Russia is the Magog of Ezekiel 38. To further prove this: look at the emblem of the Russian Federation: it has two eagles with crowns on their heads underneath a central crown. This meant that two nations came together to become one, and like it was mentioned in Ezekiel 38, the emblem had a horseman in it. This is consistent with what the prophesy says that the nation that Gog leads would have horses and horseman. In the prophesy, Gog was protecting other nations and being a defense for them. Russia has the second most number of Nuclear weapons in the world—the first being the United States—and Russia has allied themselves with China, Iran, North Korea, Turkey and Syria. All these nations have nuclear or will have nuclear weapons—all thanks to Russia.

        The recent election of the United States has made it clear that Russia is still a power to be taken seriously, and we shouldn’t take them lightly. I‘m not going to say that Putin is Gog of the bible. I don’t believe that God would directly call Putin Gog: Gog was a title for the leader—it could be any leader in Russia. It can be Putin or his successor, but Putin has done things to make it consistent with the prophesy. First, He invaded Georgia to the south of Russia for the oil pipelines that ran through that country, and this happened in 2008. He had relationships with Libya by trading with them for oil during Gaddafi’s presidency—which America overthrew during the Arab Spring in 2011. Putin also went into Syria to fight for their ally, Assad, against the American-backed ISIS. Nations that Putin intervened or traded with were nations written in Ezekiel’s prophesy. Russia wants oil, and it’s consistent because Russia’s most abundant natural resource is oil and natural gas.

        However, the prophesy said that Gog would invade a land with unwalled villages and in safety. It would also be brought back from the sword and dwell in prosperity. Israel’s the only nation that fits that description; for the nation was a beacon for all Jews all over the world since its independence in 1948 and a lot of Jews went there after World War II. Israel is a prosperous nation for how tiny it is, and it’s safe—besides the occasional terrorist attack from the Palestinians. But, one of the key things that Israel has is oil off the coast of Tel Aviv, and it would last them for decades. This would surely give the Russian’s interest to take the spoil from the Israelis. It’s possible that the UN resolution to split Israel into two-states is a way to weaken Israel and take the spoil and the booty—just a thought. Russia has a veto power in the United Nations, but voted for the two-state solution. Why? Why make it more possible for Israel to be in warfare with the Palestinians because that’s what’s going to happen with the Two-state Solution. It happened in 1948, and it may happen again. I can’t say that this is true, but there seemed to be an assault on Israel from the world.

        What is true based on the prophesy about Gog was that God said that He’s against Gog and all his army that have bucklers and shields. The bible even named nations that Gog has allied himself with: Persia, Cush, Put, Gomer, and Togarmah. Gog was suppose to be on guard for them because God is going to fight against those nations, and save Israel. The bible said that they would go after the ones that were in the middle of the earth, and Israel is in the middle of the Earth. The identity of the other nations that ally themselves with Gog would be mentioned in a later blog, but the important thing is that God is going to fight against Gog and his army with fire and brimstone and will also call His people to fight against them. They would all go to the land of Bashan—which is just in the area of southern Syria, northern Jordan. The army will fall there, and the animals and the birds will eat and drink their flesh from them. After this battle, Israel will bury Gog and his army in a place called Hamon-gog in Israel.

        Israel will be saved by God in this war against Gog and his army. We have to be prepared for the salvation of the LORD, and fight a good fight of faith. Why is God doing this? He’s doing it because He wants to pour out His Spirit on His people when they realize their sins that brought them into captivity to begin with. The people will abhor their sins, and become God’s people again. God wants to give us and them a new heart to follow Him and keep His commandments from the heart and mind. Please watch and be ready for what God has in mind for Israel and the world.
