Cracked Foundation

        O reader, this blog will be built on the previous blog that’s called America’s Cornerstone. I cannot stress enough that we are living in the days of judgment in America right now, and many people still need to wake up and seek God with a humble and repentant attitude. What I am about to tell you comes partly from Jonathan Cahn’s video called “The Second Shaking”, and partly from personal research after I had learned of the truth given to him by God. I want to be clear that the economic situation that we are living in today is not normal. It is not something that we can just shrug our shoulders, “rebuild”, and pretend that everything is alright. NO! WAKE UP! We are in danger! We have to seek and love the truth, and seek God with all our being!

        This was what happened during what was called “The Sub-Prime Mortgage Crisis”—reiterating Rabbi Cahn. He can explain this much better than I can. On September 15, 2008, Lehman Brothers filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy because the Federal Government—which bailed-out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from their bankruptcy—chose not to do so a third time. This brought about an economic collapse that ended with Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 777.12 points in one day—On September 29, 2008. In the Hebrew calendar, 9/29/2008 was Elul 29, and the next day was Rosh Hashanah—the group I go to call it the Feast of Trumpets. 7 years earlier, on the day that America reopened the New York Stock Exchange after 9/11, stocks fell 684.81 points. (http://www.nyse.com/about/history/timeline_events.html) That day was September 17, 2001—which was Elul 29 in the Hebrew calendar.

        Elul 29 was the day that we are to do what the laws of Moses instructed in Deuteronomy 15:1-11. On the 7th year, we are to forgive and release all debts owe to our brothers within the nation. Buying stock is giving a loan to a creditor and expecting something in return. Student loans, mortgages, car loans, credit cards (just to name a few) are all loans. Releasing a debt is simply “giving up your claim to what is owed by your brother”. In other words, you are clearing and forgiving loans, not expecting anything in return, and you do it once every 7 years on the end of the year. In other words, you are giving a gift to a creditor. Elul 29 is considered the end of the harvest year, and is the date to release debt. The 7th year was considered “the LORD’s release”, and if done the way God wills it, it’s a blessing.

        However, what happens when we don’t do God’s will on the appointed times that He says too? Well, in a time of judgment, God uses it as a sign of judgment. If your economy is based on debt and loans, it will collapse if the loans aren’t paid off or forgiven. That’s exactly what happened with Lehman brothers and the economy around September 11, 2008. America lost 7% of her GDP in one day. This created a domino effect in Europe and other countries around the world. This economic collapse fulfilled Isaiah 9:13-15:

For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them,
Nor do they seek the Lord of hosts.
Therefore the Lord will cut off head and tail from Israel,
Palm branch and bulrush in one day.
 The elder and honorable, he is the head;

The prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.”

In other words, God’s response to our spirit of defiance is letting our disobedience backfire on us—collapsing our economy. Instead of seeking God’s will, we made the choice to cut interest rates in half in 2001, and that created the mortgage bubble. The only reason it was a bubble was because it was popped in 2008 by not forgiving our brother’s debts. We need to seek God and His law: the 10 commandments. Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone, and the Law (first five books of Moses) and the Prophets (Rest of the Old Testament) is the foundation that rests on top of Him.

But, the American government did not respond with humility and repentance. In fact, newly elected President Obama said in a joint session of Congress on February 24, 2009:

But while our economy may be weakened and our confidence shaken; though we are living through difficult and uncertain times, tonight I want every American to know this:

We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before.”

         Strangely, he said the samething Tom Daschle said on September 12, 2001 after quoting Isaiah 9:10. Obama continues to say:

“The weight of this crisis will not determine the destiny of this nation. The answers to our problems don’t lie beyond our reach. They exist in our laboratories and universities; in our fields and our factories; in the imaginations of our entrepreneurs and the pride of the hardest-working people on Earth.

 In other words, don’t seek God because the answers are not there, and take pride in your hard-work on the earth—even though God declared that He’s against our “pride and arrogance of heart” (Isaiah 9:8-9). Obama and leaders like him have fulfilled Isaiah 9:16: “For the leaders of this people cause them to err, and those who are led by them are destroyed”. I declare to you, O reader, the truth: God is the answer!!!! Seek Him!

There’s nothing wrong with going out and earning a living and working hard at what you do. There’s nothing wrong with capitalism as long as it’s used correctly without greed and corruption. There’s nothing wrong with getting educated or starting a business or owning a business or working for a business. The problem is the reaching for wealth without God: seeking money instead of seeking God who gave the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). With Obama’s statement, America is saying “My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth”—no. It is because of God’s promise to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph that we have the blessings that we have today. Remember Deuteronomy 8:11-18… O Fairest in the Land… To God be the Glory!

            Making wealth our foundation is like building a cracked foundation on top of a sinking cornerstone of Isaiah 9:10. If we keep the 10 commandments and seek God by seeking the Law and the Prophets—the Books of Moses and the Old Testament—we’ll be building on the Chief Cornerstone of Jesus Christ. O America, do you want to be the scarlet queen that sinks comfortably to her doom? Or, do you want to be the Fairest in the Land, a chaste virgin with a zeal and love for God and life? The choice is yours… O Fairest in the land… I will not wait forever…
